Who I am Project

In summary, the Who I am project was when I, as a tenth grader, completed five projects out of my six subject areas that was geared towards describing me as a person. Underneath this description, you should see the pictures and summaries describing each individual project. Again, these projects are focused on conveying who I am as a person and as a student.

Overall, the Wellness Plan is my personal plan to increase the amount of sleep I get every night from an average of 5-7 hours of sleep to 8-9 hours by the end of the first Semester. I created this plan because I know that when your body doesn't get the sleep it needs it starts to shut down, and your emotional health gets affected by how you are crabby or short tempered; due to the lack of sleep. I also, know that the lack of sleep can lead to chronic diseases—such as diabetes and depression.

A primary document is a source of any kind that was created or written during the time of the event/conflict. My primary document, that is shown in the picture, is a certificate I received for participating in the Michigan Introduction to Engineering Program, MITE, at Michigan University. What this document says about me, is that I'm a hardworking student and stellar student since I was among the 40 out of 400 applicants/students that was chosen for this program.

The Figurative Language I used in this poem was similes, metaphors, and hyperbole. What I learned about myself writing this poem was that I can be creative in the way I describe my characteristics to people. In addition, I learned that the Chinese culture sometimes does not recognize certain aspects of American history and entertainment. For example, I had to explain to my Chinese teacher that Speed Stacking is a sport where you stack cups at extremely fast speeds.

Westcott House Digital Video

Westcott House project was when the 10th grade class went to the house and took pictures of the house in general, and then we composed the pictures we took and made them into a video that was supposed to demonstrate a geometric theme. The artist statement was supposed to include how your group conveyed your geometric theme through effects and explain the overall message of your video. The project impacted my way of Geometry because it gave me knowledge that geometry is present in everyday life.

Learner Profile

I am a Linguistic learner who is number smart and people smart. One piece of evidence to prove my claim, is that I scored a 19 in Interpersonal intelligence, and I scored second highest in Linguistic and Logical learning which was an 18; on the Multiple Intelligence test. This means I enjoy being around people and I sometimes work better in a group environment, but this also means that I like to discover patterns, learn best with classifying information, and I possess high auditory skills.
